SPIRITUAL MENTORING FORUM
The Hayes, Swanwick, Derbyshire 21-23 November 2017
I would like to invite you to join myself and others who are interested in Spiritual Mentoring (or if you prefer, Spiritual Direction) for a short 48 hour gathering which will be held this year at The Hayes Conference Centre near Swanwick in Derbyshire.
The purpose of the gathering will be to encourage and resource one another in this particular calling, to develop and sharpen our gifts and skills, and to learn more about what it mans to mentor others in their walk with God. The programme therefore will reflect these three aims, as well as provide a little ‘sacred space’ for each of us to enjoy time with God as well.
The Forum will start with registration at 4pm on Tuesday 21 November, and finish after lunch on Thursday 23 November. The cost for accommodation and meals will be £159, and we are able to offer single rooms without additional cost (though if you are coming as a couple, or wish to share with a friend you may do so). All rooms are ensuite. This year, for the first time, we are able to offer a small bursary for anyone who may need a little help with the fees. Please ask us about this.
This year the theme is ‘THE MAKING OF YOU’, and we are delighted that Sheridan Voysey has agreed to be our facilitator. Sheridan is an Australian now living in Oxford with his wife Merryn, and is a writer, speaker and broadcaster (you may hear him on Radio 2). Through their own experience of disappointment and heartbreak in not being able to have children they have developed a compassionate understanding of what it means to recover from broken dreams. You can find out more about Sheridan from his website (www.sheridanvoysey.com) where you will also find a lot of helpful resources.
If you would like to register for the Forum, please contact our administrator, Susan Chalmers at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will send you a booking form.
Early registration will be of a great help to us in our planning and preparation. We have booked only 25 rooms, so cannot guarantee places once we reach this number.
